How to use this site: overview

This site was set up by the World Federation of Science Journalism to assist our global community of science journalists to easily access the best scientific information about the COVID-19 crisis, and share best practice about how to cover this type of subject. The site is entirely curated by science journalists and, in this era of fake news, is intended to show only the most trustworthy information.

We put up this site very quickly (it has been eight days since the idea was originally mooted) because we saw an urgent need and wanted to help. This means the site is far from perfect as it stands. Rest assured that we will be actively working to improve it.

Home page

This page is organised so that you can find information on different topics (from the drop-down COVID-19 menu at the top of the page), and then see that information separated into different types (see the tabs in the articles list, left).

If you would like to do a more advanced search of the content, start by putting a term in the search box. This will take you to our search page, which allows you to search by keyword, date, topic, type of information, and (where applicable) location.

Search

As well as searching for keywords using the search bar, you can use intelligent filtering to find the information you need. The Subject Tag menu allows you to filter by whatever subjects you are interested in: either individually or in combination. Likewise, the Search Type menu allows to select information you might like to include, e.g. Primary Information and Contacts, while excluding others. If you are trying to find information about a particular country or region, then you may want to use the Search Location filters where, again, you can select individual countries/regions or the combinations you are interested in.

Note that the list of locations is not intended to be complete. It simply reflects the particular content that exists at any particular time. As the collection of resources grows, the country list will grow too.
